Staying Healthy and Dealing With Stress

The past two weeks have been very hectic for me. My job that I've been with for almost 6 years have cut my work hours to around 12-18 hours a week, but I did manage to get another job, but that is also averaging about 13 hours a week.  How can a family of 5 survive off that?

Well, we don't have a chose. So within these two weeks, I have managed to pack on 10lbs. I really haven't been working out, because I've job hunting.  Not really eating right, just grabbing something quick and easy, not worrying about if it's healthy or not. Man....I've fucked up so bad these two weeks. But I am going to sit down today, and map out a thirty day plan to become fianacially fit, and healthy.

Starting tomorrow I will write out a meal plan for every 3 days, and I will start back with Freeletics 5-6 a week, for an hour. I will try to eliminate any distractions within the next thirty days. Wish me luck!!! Luv & Blessins!!!

My First Workout With Freeletics

I did it. I was able to workout without being bothered. The kids were at The Boys and Girls Club, and my boyfriend was out with friends.   Yay for me! Right?

So I downloaded this app called Freeletics, and let me tell you, it worked the shit out of me. Burpees, jumping jacks, lunges, mountain climber..... and 100 crunches. I loved it though. When I workout, I feel like a totally different person. I'm in a different world. And I love it.

Making A Come Back

I have been through so much this past year, and I'm ok with all the bad shit that has happened to me. I'm still breathing, so life is not too bad. I'm back, and determined more than ever to lose 30lbs.

We had to downsize to a smaller place, and its very hard to workout in the morning before work, because the kids have both bedrooms, and we are in the living room. I usually wake up around 3:45 a.m., and everyone else is sleep, so I feel like I have to tip toe , and workout in silence. But you know what? Fuck that shit! The kids never wake up that early. Its always my boyfriend. He doesn't want to join me in my workouts, yet always has something to say.

I'm over that bullshit. If you are not motivating me, joining me, or helping me, than keep your mouth closed. I'm going to do my workouts 6 days a week, and learn how to meal prep, and work on me. Starting today, my life will become epic.

Current weight: 169.9
Goal weight: 140
I will try my best to blog daily on my activities, and daily goals. Luv and Blessins!!!

Knee Injury Has Me at No Lower Body Workout

Omg....my right knee, and right ankle have me down for the count. I was on a scooter, hit a rock, and flew off. Thank God I'm alive.

Can't really do any type of lower body exercises on my right leg. I do perform one sided squats  on the left, but basically I have been concentrating on abs, and my upper body. I don't want my left leg to become bigger than my right. I am able to flex my ankle, and rotate it to a certain degree. I have also been doing the R.I.C.E. treatment.  Rest, ice, compress, and elevate.
Can't let this hold me back from becoming a personal trainer.  I'm learning how to rehabilitate myself, and let me tell you, it's a work in progress.  Luv & Blessins

Busy Life

Trying to stay healthy,  and lose weight is always an on going journey. But with will power and determination it's manageable.  I work, take an online personal trainer class, and I have four amazing kids. So therefore a schedule is a must for me.

I managed to get a great workout in at the gym, because it was my day off from work. I felt very good about this upper body workout tonight.
Here's the workout:
Flat bench dumbbell press 10 lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Flat bench dumbbell flyes 10 lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Bench press 65 lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Seated dumbbell press 10 lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Seated dumbbell lateral raises. 10 lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Dumbbell seated over head extensions 20 lbs 10 reps 3 sets
Dumbbell curls 15 lbs
Bent over barbell rows 65 lbs 10 reps 3 sets.

I felt good after this workout. There is always time for you. Invest in yourself. You don't have to go to the gym, you can workout from home. Find the time to take care of you.

Do you meal prep?  I find it easy for my schedule and the kids schedule to grocery shop on Sunday, and meal prep on that day as well. Meal prepping frees up a lot of your time.

Also when you go grocery shopping start shopping on the outer parts of the store first.  You hit the vegetables and meat most of the time first. So clean eating is the best eating. Keep embracing your journey to self health. Love & Blessins!!!

The Journey Of Self Love

Losing weight is not easy. You have to be 100% committed to the lifestyle change. That means if you are not used to exercising, than you should start slowly. Maybe walk a few blocks, low impact aerobics, or stationary bike. If you are not used to clean eating, than start small. Have smaller portions, more protein, less soda, more water, and fruits and veggies.

Never try to keep up with someone else. You must go at your own pace, and do what works for you. Do you eat breakfast? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I have my Herbalife healthy meal and protein shake within 45 minutes of waking up. 2-3 hours later I have a morning snack. My morning snack would consist of Greek yogurt, string cheese, and water. At lunch I would have another Herbalife healthy meal and protein shake. My afternoon snack of  Herbalife tea, and spinach salad. At dinner time, I would either he turkey tacos, or chicken and brown rice with veggies, or tilapia, or catfish. Baked of course.

You must be active. I am constantly walking, and walking is a great low impact workout. Each month I implement a workout challenge. Currently I am on my 10th week, 5th day of the 10 week workout challenge. Sunday June 1,2014 starts the 30 Day Ab & Squat Challenge. Below is the workout chart.
You might not like working out in the gym. So why not workout at home. Maybe you might have some workout dvd's, or on your Xbox system you have a workout app. I use Nike Run app on my phone on the weekends. This is when I go for my 3 mile run.  You don't have to start out lifting weights, but eventually you will have to invest an some dumb bells to tone up from leaning out. I incorporate pushups, squats, calf raises, and lunges in my daily workouts. Also don't forget the ab work. And do not forget to drink or try your best to drink a gallon of water a day. If you would like information on my nutritional plan go to www.goherbalife.com/robinelzie.

Day 1 of Herbalife

So I finally decided to use Herbalife to go along with me working out. I have 2 shakes as a meal replacement, multi vitamins, cell activator, herbal tea and protein. The shakes are very good, and I'm energized.

Now that I'm doing this, I can focus on the nutritional part of my life. Clean eating, more water, fruits and veggies. My goal is to drop my last 24lbs within 90 days. Well wish me luck. Luv & Blessins!!!

From Being Fat to To Getting Fit

I weighed my heaviest ever in 2011. All the sodas, Red Bulls and fast food started catching up with me. But over time I was able to drop from 236 to 169. My goal is to get to 145.

I eliminated all the Red Bulls, and I haven't completely gave up on soda, I still will have two a week...but hey I'm working on it. I cook more, and eat breakfast everyday now. I also believe portion control is the key.

Right now I workout from home, using dumbbells, body weight excercises, and P90x. In January I will start running.

So remember, everything takes time, and patience. It only takes one person to believe in you, and that's YOU!!! Luv & Blessins

Losing Weight Is Not Easy

Man...losing weight is hard, but it just takes a few seconds to get started. Yes it does.  I work 5 days a week, and I'm exhausted all the time. I wake up early enough to workout before I leave for work, but sometimes I just don't feel like it.

But all that is about to change. Currently I weigh in at 173.2lbs. My goal is to get to get to 145lbs. So each morning I will cardio for about 45 minutes to an hour, focus more on drinking water, and portion control.

I love walking...but I really would love to get back into running. But running with double D's is so uncomfortable. But I'm determined. So if I have to run with one regular bra and two sports bras, than so be it.

I also enjoy walking lunges, burpees, push ups, mountain climbers, and any type of ab workouts.

So yes losing weight is hard, but not impossible. We all have to start somewhere. Luv & Blessins!!!

Day 8 of 30 Day Challenge

This week has been very busy for me, but not too busy where I couldn't work out. I did workout this past  Thursday and Friday, just didn't have time to blog.

Cardio sessions and weight lifting is working well for me. I have so much energy and life after I workout. Did you know that crosstraining is one of the most important things you can do to see rapid changes in your body?

I've also added green tea to my daily diet. I have about 3 to 4 cups of green tea a day. This has definitly replaced my soda intake. Did you know that 3 cups of green tea a day helps burn 80 calories per day, whereas 3 cups of coffee with cream can pack on an extra 210 calories per day? Glad I'm not a coffee drinker.

I really enjoy working out, and well I hope my blog motivates you to get to moving. Love & Blessins!!!
